Grants & Funding

Supporting safe, sustainable, and inclusive OHV recreation throughout Utah.

SLC Built Jeeps is honored to partner with the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation through OHV Tourism and OHV Education grants. These programs help us promote responsible recreation, provide inclusive access for individuals with limited mobility, and reduce avoidable impacts on Utah’s public lands.

🌄 OHV Tourism Grant

The OHV Tourism Grant supports programs that introduce riders to Utah’s landscapes in a responsible and educational way. Our projects focus on helping new drivers explore with confidence, while showcasing the beauty of Utah’s trail systems.

  • Beginner OHV trail guides for every major Utah riding region
  • Access support for individuals with limited mobility
  • Community ride events that highlight Utah’s diverse terrain
  • Resources that help newcomers recreate safely and respectfully

Our goal: make Utah’s trails welcoming and accessible to every rider.

📘 OHV Education Grant

The OHV Education Grant strengthens our ability to teach responsible recreation. These educational projects empower riders to protect the very trails they enjoy.

  • Trail etiquette, staging, and group ride basics
  • Environmental awareness and Leave No Trace principles
  • Seasonal closures, water crossings, weather impacts
  • Beginner-focused vehicle basics (tire pressure, recovery points, radios)
  • Support for volunteer leadership and safety planning

Education ensures long-term access — informed riders create fewer issues and protect more trails.

💰 How OHV Grant Funding Works

It’s important for the community to understand: OHV grants do not provide money upfront.

All OHV grants operate on a reimbursement model. This means SLC Built Jeeps must first purchase each approved item using our own funds. Only after submitting receipts and documentation does the OHVR program reimburse the cost.

What this means for us:

  • Every project must be pre-funded before reimbursement.
  • Cashflow matters — delays can slow community programs.
  • All purchases must match the approved grant budget exactly.

Your donations help bridge the gap so we can keep programs running without interruption.

Project Funding Breakdown

Total Project Cost: $39,499.90

OHVR Funding Awarded: $22,249.90

SLCBJ Upfront Commitment: $17,250.00

❤️ Why Donations Still Matter

Grants empower our mission — but community donations make the work possible day-to-day. Because grant expenses must be paid up front, your support fills the gap that allows us to:

  • Provide OHV experiences for limited-mobility participants
  • Expand beginner safety and education resources
  • Supply safety equipment for volunteers
  • Fund trail stewardship and community cleanup projects
  • Purchase grant-approved items before reimbursement

Your donation is an investment in education, inclusion, safety, and Utah’s public lands.
